Reflection

The internal noise I experienced at times taught me a lot about myself. First, I need creativity. Working on this project has afforded me the ability to use my imagination in a way that I did not think would happen in a metal health service setting. I decorated, I designed, I planned an event, and I completed a presentation, which fulfilled a void that has not been addressed in the last year. I had been focusing on the clinical aspect of human service work while in the Clinical Mental Health Program, which made me neglect my creative side. Being able to create has been therapeutic in ways that will change how I work forever. Secondly, I work best when I have flexibility. It was refreshing to have a supervisor that encouraged autonomy and input. I chose my own hours, scheduled my own meetings, and had full creative control of each event I planned

Benefits & Transactions

"Research consistently shows important benefits related to social capital, such as individuals with higher levels of social capital being happier and finding better jobs. We also see that people report better health and increased levels of trust in a community as a result of their positive relationships."

"Without social capital humans could not work together. This is because social capital is the shared values, norms, trust, and belonging that make social exchange possible. Our society, economy, institutions, and political system could not exist without social capital."
